I have always had a fascination with water, and if you look up the word fountain, you will find that it is the source that best describes this project. The fountain I chose is right next to my house and has been a part of my landscape for decades. The pond is still in good shape and will provide enough water to grow a small garden that will eventually produce tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables.
The pump is a new addition to this project and has been a great asset for the entire community. The pump works by taking the water from the pond and pumping it through a series of pipes, which is actually a very simple process. You can see the pump in action in the video below.
The pump will not only provide enough water to grow vegetables, but also enough to keep the pond in good shape for fishing. People love to fish here, but it’s not just for the food. In fact, the fish are quite a bit more intelligent than you’d expect because they constantly come to the surface of the pond to see if anyone is looking at them. They keep this behavior up until someone finds them in a bowl of water and they quickly become the size of a watermelon.
I think the fountain itself is probably the real surprise of this video. I’ve seen many times before (and after) that when you put a pump in a pond, you should put a hole in the bottom of your pond so you can make a hole in the bottom of the pump so you can pump water up into the pond. But this pump is so strong that it has a hole in the bottom of the pump.
The fountain is apparently made entirely out of water. When the water table is drained, the pump is turned off. But you can still pump water up into the bottom of the pump by pumping water into the hole in the bottom of the pump, which is what the video is doing.
