The most common question I am asked by new customers or potential customers is “which ramen is the best?” And I would have to say that the answer is “nongshim tonkotsu ramen.” This ramen is a very popular ramen, and it is made from noodles that are cooked with soy sauce, garlic, and grated ginger.

Because there is such a wide variety of tonkotsu ramen, I was just a bit baffled when I first heard about nongshim tonkotsu ramen. Is it true? Is it all in Japan? Is it from China? I have friends who say it’s from China and I say, “No, it’s all in Japan.” I’m not entirely sure though.

Or that tonkotsu ramen is made by the same people who made nongshim tonkotsu ramen. But now it seems like it’s more than that. It’s also being made in Thailand, and in fact, there’s even a tonkotsu ramen restaurant in Bangkok.
Tonkotsu ramen’s popularity is not limited to Japan. My friend has friends in China and they both say that it is as popular in China as it is in Japan. I have been told by my friend that there are tonkotsu ramen shops in Thailand, even though they don’t serve it themselves. In fact, the only time I’ve been to Thailand was when I went to visit a cousin there and ordered a tonkotsu ramen.
With the new generation of young, savvy and hungry business-people, it doesn’t take much to convince them that something is worth the time to research and try. And while I am in no way trying to be a food critic, I would like to say that I would be happy to try any given food from any given shop at any given restaurant. I am also not trying to be a food critic either so I don’t think my opinions are very valid. I just want to have fun.
It looks pretty, but it’s also very, very good. It also comes in different flavors. There are two types that I’m eating: one that’s sweet and one that’s not. I’m eating one of the flavors that has been in the restaurant for awhile, but I’m not sure if I’m going to get the same flavor. The restaurant also has a ton of other foods that are not in my order.
The thing about ramen, is that you get to taste so many different types of ramen, and a lot of times you can’t tell the difference between them. So while it can be a bit confusing, I’m sure that it adds to the overall experience. I think it’s nice that it looks as tasty as it tastes, because it’s like a little secret that you cannot taste.
